Subscript range
Hi there, I'm having an issue trying to build a model with multiple ranges of subscripts. I have a variable, call it "variable" which has two subscript ranges, "A" and "B" attached to it, such that: "variable"[A,B] Within the two subscript ranges are a number ...

Unable to save mdl file
Hi there
The last couple of times I have tried to close down a model, I get an error message that says
"Unable to copy file ...mdl to ...2mdl
File not saved"
Does anyone know what might be causing this?
Cheers
Mik

Hi Bob (all) That's still not working. I thought it might be as I am using a combined line and dot plot (of two different variables on the same plot) but I have tried it wit just one variable and it still doesn't work. I've tried a number of iterations (different permutations) of this and I can't ch...

Optimization procedure
Hi all
I have a (hopefully) quick question.
What optimisation method does VenSim use, i.e. what is the value that is being optimised, e.g. residual sum of squares, etc.
I couldn't seem to find it in the manuals
Cheers

Dot size on custom graphs
Hi all
Is it possible to change the size of dots used in a custom graph?

Value of variable from set time
Hi all I am trying to find a way to get the value of a variable, say x, from a specific timestep, t = 10, and input that into the equation for another variable, say y such that y = F(x(t=10)) I've thought of an inelegant way to do it by using a delay function and increasing the value of the delay ti...

Issues with sensitivity testing
Hi guys I have an issue with sensitivity testing. The results I obtain from my Monte Carlo simulations are sensitive to the value of constants (those being varied by the sensitivity test) in the model itself. Just in case that doesn't make sense. I am testing my model output over some set of constan...

Mean line color for custom graphs
Hi All I'm plotting some custom graphs of sensitivity runs and I'm having issues with plotting the mean line in a specified color - not too sure what the correct command should be. The command says :MEAN color will plot the mean in the specified color, but if I try writing the name of a color, i.e. ...

Obtain data for mean of sensitivity run
Does anyone know of a means to get the values of the mean of a sensitivity run?
I am able to plot it, but would like the actual numerical values too.
Any help much appreciated
Mik:)

Sensitivity distributions
Hi all I'm having a bit of a strange problem. I have run some sensitivity testing on my model using normal distributions, got it all running very well. I have since come back and changed a couple of the variable distributions and the sensitivity confidence bounds are now MUCH larger than before. 'Th...

Hi Bob Thanks for the reply. The equations you suggest deal with the value of each of the supplies but I'm not sure how to assign those values based on which energy source has the highest payback value. Does that make sense? So, sometimes let's say oil has the highest energy return so is assigned pr...

Assigning priority to meet demand
Hi all I have run into a bit of difficulty (again!) I'm trying to model the global energy system. I have a set pattern for demand (following a logistic growth up to some limit). This demand is then met by the various supply technologies, assigning priority based on values of energy return up to the ...

Hi there I have re-jigged my model to include a level (see attached), so that the value of the level is INTEG((f(t) - f(t-1))/dt), but now I need to feed the value of 'annual renewable extraction' from the previous timestep to the rate leaving the level. I can't seem to find any means by which to do...

I have thought having the EROI change as a function of the Renewable Capital Stock normalized to the maximum capital stock needed to achieve the full potential extraction, but unfortunately that is exactly what I don't know and partly what I am trying to find out b...
