Re: date display
Got it. You need to click 'as date' under the time axis specifications in the control panel.

date display
How doe I make the dates appear on the graph? I have added the dates in settings as per attached. But my graphs still show 0 - 365. Is there another step outside of 'settings'?

Graph Scale Reset
Hi,
How to reset graphs (when you click the graph button) to the full scale after you have used Shift & drag to zoom in on a certain time-bound?
Thanks

Re: Aging using subscript mapping
Ah yes, sorry I attached a version of the model which has 2 equations for average time in cohort , with 5 yrs for previous cohort and a very large number for the 100+ cohort. If you see the attached model I have simplified this to 1 equation in which average time in cohort simply equals 5, and you c...

Aging using subscript mapping
I'm trying to age the population, and in the attached test model I would expect the age band 100+ just to grow (but it doesn't, so where are those people "aging-out" to?) ....is there a way to write the equations more elegantly than just writing a separate equation for the 100+ population,...

Hello,
Why does it seem that in the new PLE one is unable to view models as text?

Re: Problem Installing Model Reader
Because the .vpa files didn't change to display the Vensim logo, I assumed that it actually didn't install correctly.
We are still working on this...thanks for your support.

Vensim Get Data with subscript
Hi, When I use Vensim_Get_Data, I find that I must put the subscript element in the variable name, I can't put the actual name of the subscript range and get all the output. Any advice on how to simplify this process and just use the subscript name to get data on all the elements? Many thanks, Sarah...

Importing data as .vdf
Hi, I'm looking for a bit of clarity on importing data... (1a) When you save a data variable as a .vdf, does it just save that variable? (1b) Whereas when you save a simulation run as a .vdf it saves values for all variables in the model? What's the best way to import a subscripted data variable (wi...

Loading changes file in model reader
Hi,
I'm guessing it's not possible for a user of Model Reader to load different changes files?
If the scenarios are driven by the .cin files, is there any way around this?
Many thanks,
Best wishes,
Sarah

Re: Problem Installing Model Reader
Hi,
Actually it means that the Model Reader doesn't install. Plus, he needs the .dll to work. Hmm. I guess I can troubleshoot with him for awhile. Try to get him to use the default settings.
Thanks for your help.

Sarah

Re: Problem Installing Model Reader
I am pretty sure that it is defaulting to these settings. Perhaps because of a past installation where the user tried to use the faulty settings too?

Problem Installing Model Reader
Hi, Someone is having a problem installing model reader. I think it is related to his default locations for the target directories (one directory for the program and one directory for the supporting files). Do you have any guidelines for which directories the user needs to select for the Model Reade...

Re: Vensim.dll not working on guest computer
Oh thank you! This is really interesting. The solution I eventually came to was to use the phrase: call interface.xlsm and I didn't embed the interface in the *.vpa published package at all....so they exist as two files. This was the only way I could stop the over-ride error message. Your solution d...

Re: Vensim.dll not working on guest computer
Hi Tony,
I don't really know how to write a batch file. Here is my attempt.
It's obviously wrong, all I wrote is literally:
@echo off
launch interface.xlsm
The model doesn't seem to open either.
Thank you. I think your suggestion will work if I get this file right.
Best wishes,
Sarah

Re: Vensim.dll not working on guest computer
Hi Tony, I don't mind distributing two files, but the problem still persists - because the only way to package the .vpa is to use the interface.xlsm files as the caller. So the .vpa opens the interface.xlsm from the package and then saves the interface.xlsm to the same folder as the .vpa.....I don't...

This is the error I'm getting every time I simulate. Clicking "No" works around it, but very distracting.
Any advice much appreciated.

Re: Vensim.dll not working on guest computer
Hi, For reference, the steps/settings are as shown in the attached image. This saves both the Excel and the model into one .vpa file. Note again that Vensim will not be able to publish the application if your Excel file is open. When you open the published .vpa file with Model Reader, the Excel file...

Re: Vensim.dll not working on guest computer
Can you please, very explicitly tell me how to save an Excel and a .mdl as a .vpa so that a guest can use it? 1. When I do this, do I choose the Excel as the caller? 2. Do I need to add the Excel files as an 'Additional File' When I publish the model using the settings in the attached image, I get t...

Re: Vensim.dll not working on guest computer
Ah, ok - I worked this out. For reference, it wouldn't package interface.xlsm because interface.xlsm was open (set to open automatically when you open the model.)
