I think you have a discrete simulation problem, not a dynamic one. The essential difference is that what is flowing in a discrete simulation carries information, which can affect the flow itself. I think it would be beneficial if SMILE included both dynamic and discrete simulation. Also, there is an initiative called BPMI (Business Process Modelling Initiative) with a well developed language (BPML) which may be an appropriate foundation for SMILE. Its XML and pi-calculus based.
