Et voila!
Thank-you.
So, I specify a save list for sensitivity runs but I delete it from the model for a simulation?

Re: Simulate vs Sensitivity
A flat line.
How do I run without the save list? In Sim Control I have tried to clear/delete/set a new file name but I keep getting the same result.

Re: Simulate vs Sensitivity
I have attached the model (my first effort to explore Vensim) - the parameter in question (Offtake) has not been changed, other than reentering the function. From memory, nothing else in the model was changed, just settings in the Sim Control. When fixed, I will have to work on a test version, keepi...

Simulate vs Sensitivity
If I run my model using "simulate" my model misbehaves: a random normal variable produces a constant output. Whereas if I run the model using "sensitivity" the random normal variable behaves as expected. When I removed the noise seed variable used in the sensitivity runs and plug...

Never mind - found this in the sticky on tutorials

Was not setting the sensitivity save list properly

Help with running and reviewing simulations
Struggling here. I have a random number variable and have used another variable (Noise Seed) as the input to that variable as the noise seed (following an example in an earlier post here). I want to run simulations (say 200) in which only the constant Noise Seed is changed - ie automate what I can d...

Re: probability Distribution
Hani, Check out the list of functions at http://www.vensim.com/documentation/index.html?22300.htm If you look at each function you will see which version of Vensim it is supported by. Would be nice to have a comparison of the functions available for each version but this does not seem to exist (ther...

Display mean of a Box Variable?
Can I set a variable to calculate the mean an output of my model from Initial Time to Final Time? (and presumably also SD). I have tried Get Data Mean - but my input is not a data variable (I have the flows into a Box Variable). I have tried making a variable that equals the contents of the Box Vari...

Re: How to model scheduled order releases?
Not available with PLE. My guess is Vensim Pro offers the functions I probably need ... happy to trial that over Xmas/New Year - I will know by then or not at all.Vensim has queues as well, have you tried those instead of the DELAY functions?
No Vensim training in Australia at all?

Thanks JJ ... Focusing on bigger alligators in my model, but will come back to explore your suggestion.

Re: How to model scheduled order releases?
Thanks Tony, that helped a lot ... once I woke up to using shadow variables to link TIME STEP to my variables needing conversion to rates per day. I have at last spent time looking at the system rather than model errors. Tougher to evaluate Vensim vs iThink when only PLE is on trial (still, iThink t...

How to model scheduled order releases?
I have trawled through help and the various functions but have not seen how to model a fixed order release cycle. I am trying to replicate a process that orders new inventory every 14 days (with a variable quantity input from a box variable). Hopefully there is a solution in PLE. This order cycle is...

Thanks for the tips.
WIth Delay Material unavailable in PLE (or PLE Plus) I am looking for a workaround.

How to model random delay within min/max?
I am using the trial PLE version to assess whether it suits my needs (and whether I can drive it). Starting with a simple flow of petroleum cargo imports, storage, despatch and replenishment, with some stochastic variables. I have yet to find how to introduce a random delay to model variable vessel ...
