Re: Problems with "Find zero" convergence
Hello Vensim team again Since the last time I advanced significantly on my model. Now I'm trying to implement a different exports dispatch and I need to use simultaneous equations and find zero so as to price to converge. However, vectors sizes of x and z are different and I have not been able to fi...

Re: Problems with "Find zero" convergence
Thank you Tom As this is an electricity market model, i have some discontinuities in the supply curve. I understand the limitations that this create on the find zero function and I'm working on a different way to solve it, and thanks to your help know I understand better the nature of my problem (ze...

Merging vectors in one vector
Hello, I wonder if it is possible to merge different vectors in one vector in vensim. For instance, assume I have 2 subscripts: sub 1 and sub 2. sub1= a, b sub2= c, d x[sub1]=1, 2; y[sub1]=3, 4; So I want to create a vector, whose size would be 4 resulting from the size of sub1 and sub2. Then the re...

Re: Problems with "Find zero" convergence
I use zs=one such as the example of the vensim help. What do you mean exactly with "scaling the vector"?. I'm going to explain you briefly what I'm doing: It is about energy arbitrage. I use FIND ZERO to find a bid price. This is the price at which they bid at certain hours and with this p...

Problems with "Find zero" convergence
Hello, I'm having problems with the function "find zero". I have an error when running. It says "FIND_ZERO did not sufficiently zero" at several times and I have serious problems of convergence (differences up to 50000). I'm using find zero in order to find a price at which some ...

Re: demand and supply at price
Finally I got it to work, thank you. It seems that when formulating the vector of priority, we should use the prices in a positive way. It is different to ALLOCATE BY PRIORITY, where you should use the prices with negative sign in order to give a higher priority to those producer with cheaper margin...

demand and supply at price
I'm trying to allocate some capacity within some buyers at a certain price. I tried to do it by using the functions DEMAND AT PRICE and SUPPLY AT PRICE, but sincerely I don't get to do it. It is the typical problem of building a supply curve and dispatching by merit order, such as happens in electri...

Re: Adding a subscript using elements of other subscript
It seems that VECTOR REORDER does not work with subranges... I can create a new vector PCD: hs1,rr1,nuc1,lti1 and then create a subrange let's say PDCsub: hs1,rr1,nuc1->Tech, in case i need to do some calculation with both. Do you have another suggestion? P.s. You might add the use of subranges in t...

Re: Adding a subscript using elements of other subscript
In the following example i have a subscript tech:(p1,p3) and all the equations use tech
Then, i created the subscript 'pdc': tech, p4
If you remove it, the model works again
See the file I attach
Thank you

I did not even used the subscript 'PDC'. I just created it and I got this error

Adding a subscript using elements of other subscript
Hello I had a subscript called TECH: hs, rr, nuc Then i created another subscript (PDC) taking all the elements from 'TECH' and added a new one (lti), i.e., PDC: hs, rr, nuc, lti When I run the model, i get this error: "All arrays must have same size last element for REORDER" Before creati...

Allocate by priority with 3 subscripts
I'm having a problem with the function allocation by priority. It is weird because i don't have any error in previous calculations but i'm having a Floating point error in the dispatch. Supose I have 3 producers (tech), which try to allocate their production at 2 different hours. The quantity of pro...

Re: Problems when reordering vectors
I tried to do it with 0 but it was not possible. If you want you can run the model i attached with 0 and the result is incorrect. I had to do this "price order max to min[HOUR,TECH]=2-price min to max[HOUR,TECH]" because it was the only way to find the complementary positions, which is the...

Problems when reordering vectors
Hello everyone I'm having a huge problem with vensim when trying to reorder a vector. It gives the wrong results when entering a vector order (like svec from Vensim help). For example, i have a matrix of prices Price x tech=3,2,4;6,5,7; Then i use VECTOR SORT ORDER to calculate the vector of positio...
