connectors to vars scrolled to not possible
When models get large and esp. when working on a small screen (e.g. laptop), I noticed that it's not possible to draw a connector by clicking one variable than scrolling until a second variable becomes visible and then clicking that one. Instead I need to zoom out until both variables are visible an...

How to rea-add part of a flow?
If you have stock and an inflow from a cloud, then delete the cloud you are left with a valve and half of the flow from the valve to the stock. How can another flow be attached to that valve? The incoming pipe so to speak? I used to be able to take the flow tool and click the valve with the second c...

WMF export not working with larger
First I want to thank you developers for implementing WMF export option (View/Export as WMF i.e. Windows MetaFile). This is quite helpful as it copies a vector image to the clipboard that can be used in MS-office applications. I have a model with hidden structures. When I only show until hide-layer ...

Re: insert picture into Aux / Stock variable?
This is a workaround that may sometimes help. However, inserting real pictures would be more helpful: a) use icons not just fonts b) combine qualitative Group Model Building with the advantages of Graphical Recording. You could have one person modeling in vensim and a graphical recorder drawing in a...

Re: Watermark model output?
The idea is that I can send a model sketch to someone as pdf but they cannot use it without it revealing where it came from. Sometimes you may wanna control to some degree how participants in a larger project context use outputs, because you are planning on publishing some of it in a peer -reviewed ...

Feature Request: copy-paste style of arrows
In qualitative modeling I typically define certain styles in a model, i.e. color, font, background-color, for arrows also dashed, dotted and for comments attached to vars even arrows without arrow-head. (When working with clients in GMB, comments in the formula editor have not proven useful, unlike ...

Re: Export as SVG: parts not visible in result
Thanks for working on improving this!
Edit in Inkscape is exactly my workaround at present. But it sometimes gets tricky if the crop contains nothing (whole model is outside the cropped area).

change colors of graphs to respect color vision deficiency
The colors that vensim used for trajectories of graphs, for the loop tool etc. are problematic for people with color vision deficiency (CVD). Esp. the fact that Vensim uses red and green is problematic, because red-green CVD is the most common variant. Both readers of reports or audiences in worksho...

How to batch-shift show-levels?
When working with the show levels it often happens that I need to insert another hide level, e.g. I have things in hide level 16, but I need another level between 16 and all. What do I dot then? I shift all things in level 16 to 15 and before that all things in level 15 to 14 and before that all thi...

How to change colors of loop tool (currently grey)
Is there a way to change the 4th color of the loop tool? Currently the 4th color is grey. Taht is problematic if the arrows are already black and then when dimmed out appear grey also. I use PLEPlus. Hence I wonder if Pro has the possibility to customize the colors used by the loop tool.

Export as SVG: parts not visible in result
There are some issues with SVG export: 1. Resulting SVG sometimes has a page size smaller than the content, meaning that parts of the model are not visible because they are ouside the page boundary 2. Most of the model disappears behind an invisible cropping mask. If the SVG is opened in an external...

documentation: Causal table export is UTF-8
You may wanna add to the documentation that the export of the Causal Table tool is in Unicode UTF-8. It's important to know this if the variables contain special characters. In my case I often need to model in German (Group Model Building sessions with German audience), so the variable names contain...

Causal table export: Please switch from comma delimited to tab delimited
Currently, when hitting the copy-button in the causal table tool, the result in the clip-board is comma delimited text. That makes using it difficult, because variable names often also contain commas, when qualitative models are built in Group Model Building sessions. That means it needs workarounds...

How to find arrrows without polarities?
Is there a way to find arrows without polarities? In GMB workshops in order to save time, the marking of polarities may sometimes be postponed until after the workshop. Duriong that work, esp. in a messy diagram, it would be good to have a way to find arrows without polarity marking. If there is no ...

Simple way to invert polarity of all links to and from a variable?
When doing Group Model Building using CLDs, it often happens that the direction of a variable is inverted, e.g. from "helth" to "severity of desease" (or the other way around). This means that all Polarities of pre-existing links to and from this variable must be inverted. That's...

Symbols for avalanche & scale (Loop identifier pictures) please as vector graphic
Exporting from Vensim to SVG (vector graphics) is a cool feature that I am thankful for. However, when exporting a CLD that contains loop identifiers using the avalanche and scale pictures, the export results in not only an SVG file but also in png files for every one of these avalanche and scale pi...

My friend Julian Emmerich and I have now written up a word-document that contains the rules https://github.com/julianM5/vensim_syntax_highlighting/tree/main/docs we have used for coloring syntax in the notepad++ prototype. It could be used as a basis/inspiration for syntax highlighting in VSCode. It...
