Re: What improvements would you like to see in Vensim?
Is it possible to click on a ghost variable and go to its original view/place? This feature in Powersim is really helpful to track down how the ghost variable is created. Thanks!

Re: Sub-model: working model and graphical presentation of sub-model connection?
I ran the market_model in the same folder of Vensim sample model where "advertising" and "products" are stored. The errors I got: 1. The variable "Products" and perhaps others require a data file to be specified. 2. Unable to correctly load in exogenous values - abortin...

Sub-model: working model and graphical presentation of sub-model connection?
Hello, I'm looking at some example models trying to understand if the model structure changes with and without using sub-models. However, neither of the example models work and their structures are exactly the same. Could I have two working models for comparison? I'm attaching non-working examples h...

Re: NPV for multiple investments
Thank you, Tom!
As for the multiple NPV calculation, I guess I have to create an NPV stock and discount the cashflow manually, instead of using the NPV function. That way I can reset the NPV calculation.

NPV for multiple investments
Hello, I'm trying to calculate the NPV so that when NPV is >=0, a new investment starts. I'm attaching a small version of a bigger model. I encountered 2 problems: 1. The NPV function of the attached model keeps complaining that it needs an operator, but I'm not sure what's missing 2. In the bigger ...

Re: Spreading subscript elements over time
Thank you, Admin! I've been thinking about Ventity as well. One general question: once switched to Ventity, is there a reason to come back to Vensim? In other words, is Ventity an improvised version of Vensim? Will Ventana plan on supporting both or eventually will only support Ventity? Thanks!

Spreading subscript elements over time
Hello, I'm working on a simple model to calculate end of life vehicles based on sales. When I used other SD software, I was able to have subscripts as number, and made use of time to spread out the sales by year. However, because Vensim subscripts only accept text, I have to work around by entering ...

Re: Lookup over time with subscripts
So when I select the active subscript, does it mean that I can't have both graphs (1 for A&B) and 1 for ( C&D) at the same time?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Lookup over time with subscripts
A little off track but still in the subscript topic. If I have a subscript of 4 products, can I show 2 of them on a graph instead of 4? The reason why I want to show them separately is because of values. Say products A & B are calculated in millions while products C & D are counted in hundre...

JJ,
Many thanks for the solution. This is very similar to Powersim, which I'm familiar with.

Re: Lookup over time with subscripts
Another problem I encounter is to index the array. There are a couple functions in Vensim but I don't know which one to use. If I have a vector of Q=[30,50,70,90,110], after calculating the profit of all Qs, I have another vector P=[100,200,500,350,400]. I can easily find Pmax with Vmax function and...

Lookup over time with subscripts
Hello, I've searched the forum for this topic but couldn't find the answer to my problem. I have 4 products, demand for each is exogenous over time. Thought it should be easy but Vensim keeps telling me there are more than 1 equations for each product. Please have a look at the attached model. Thank...
