This model was just a copy paste of a smaller part, so you did not see the entire picture.
But I did as you said, and it was working. Now I have several things that may lower the level to prevent it from reaching 52, thus postponing the triggering of a maintenance event.
Thank you.

Reset a timer
I have a variable which is set to initially be 52. (1 year) "V1 Time between PM events" This is a variable which is the time between each standard maintenance event to occur. If the "VnvS1 vS replace V as well" event occurs (meaning value > 0) then the "Valve 1" has its...

Wrong use of the random function
Hi I am struggling with using the Random Normal function. I have a case of random breakdowns, and I want these random breakdowns to last between 0.25 and 72 hours (in the accumulated box named "total maintenance hours"). So I type in "AccCorrectiveM1*RANDOM NORMAL(0.25, 72, 8, 1, 0)&q...

Make two parts share 80% of maintenance work.
Hi I have a piston and a liner (a replaceable cylinder) and I want to replace these at certain intervals. If the model is changing piston at a certain time, then 6 hours of maintenance is added. If the model is changing the liner at a certain time, then 6 hours of maintenance is added. The liner has...

Accumulation of other levels
Hi I have four levels that have accumulated maintenance events over time (520 weeks) Each of the four levels have accumulated to approximately 20 events. When I sum all the four levels in a "overall" level, the sum is over 20000, it should be roughly 80. I think that all the other levels g...

Re: Return degraded state to a certain value
I still can't figure this out.
Is "reset" a function? I can not find it in the functions list. I tried both in the stock and flow boxes.
I am using Vensim PLE 7.2a
Typing in reset does not work either.

Return degraded state to a certain value
Hi I need help on how to make my "Bearing condition" return to value 10 (100% condition) after it has been replaced (maintenance) Right now I just put the equation as IF THEN ELSE(Bearings Condition EL 1<=2, 10, 0), so that every time the condition drops to 20% it is replaced. However, as ...

behavior like stairs
I am looking for a way to make a level rise by a fixed amount every n time. The graph of the level would look like a cross section of stairs.
I tried pulse train, but the value goes back down, creating saw tooth pattern.

New user, simple questions
I am new to Vensim and could use some help. Lets say I have a part, call it bearing. It starts off with a 100% condition. I set a rate, call it wear. It starts off with 1 (0-100 min-max). Simulation steps are in weeks. So far, simulating gives a linear slope of the bearing condition. From here on I ...
