Button command searched
Hi! I'm using the GUI-objects to create an interface so other people can use my model (via de Model Reader). With buttons I want to be able to start a simulation and end a simulation. I would like to use Synthesim, so people can change things in the simulation. I found the button command to start th...

Re: Venapp help
Thank you! i've been able to find the model and documentation and that is indeed very helpful.
I only haven't been able to figure out how to add the GUI elements myself. Where can I find them?

Re: Venapp help
If it is any help, I also checked for the view>view as sketch/view as text.
I also didn't see anything there that could help. (but probably it's the same issue)

Venapp help
Hi! I just got de Vensim DSS version so I can use the Venapp. However, I have some trouble finding everything. I started with the Template Venapp that comes shipped with the Vensim DSS. I found the venapp text editor and I could open the Venapp text editor. However, there I got a bit lost. I underst...

Hi,
In my SD model I want to differentiate between different speed limits. I therefore would like to create a variable that can alternate between two values (for example 100km/h and 130km/h). Is there a simple equation I can use for this?
Thank you!

Re: Venapp - simulation model interface
The only option within Vensim is the DSS version. Is that correct?Administrator wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:30 am If you are using PLE, your only option for an interface is to use SD Everywhere or Forio.

Venapp - simulation model interface
I want to develop a Venapp to create a user interface so stakeholders can use my model to test out different policies. I use the PLE version. However, I don't really understand the Vensim Help and I don't understand how to start. I tried to find the Vensim Demonstration Disk Venapp. I looked on my c...

increase of variable - car mindedness equation
Hi everyone! I'd like to model the relation between the motorization rate in an area and the car mindedness. I modelled the motorization rate as a variable (determined by vehicles and population, which are both stocks) and the car mindedness as a stock. I'd like to use an equation where the increase...

Re: units for %
Thank you all for the good advice! I like the idea of making a constant to refer to percentages.
I also didn't know about the strict unit setting. For me 'strict was also off.

modelling GDP
Hi everyone, This might be a very silly question and I apologize if it is. In my model I use GDP (and the resulting GDP/capita) as a exogenous variable to estimate the dynamics of other variables. I now use a simple structure where the GDP is a stock, and there is a flow rate (GDP growth) coming in....

Hi, In my model I use a lot of 'share' or 'percentage' as variables, for example, the share of sewer load that runs through the seperated sewer, or the share of electric vehicles. However, Vensim does not seem to accept % as a unit. And therefore I have a lot of missing unit errors. Does anyone have...

Thank you! That makes absolute sense. I will also look into making an S curve.

I want to model the effects of traffic. For the growth of vehicles I’ve used historic data to estimate the yearly growth rate. This looks good, but as unlimited growth is not realistic I now put a at a motorization rate of 850 vehicles per 1000 inhabitants. I used the following equation for this: IF...
