I thought closing and reopening Vensim might help, but that just regenerated the original error message, shown below. Clicking 'No' on that error brings up the 'Do you want to add 'error' to the model?' message.

I saved your model, opened it and selected all the variables, then tried to add the subscript 'No. of rooms', using the 'Set Subscript' command. I got the error shown in the attached screen shot, which is the same as I saw before.
