Matching results in time
In the attached simple extract from a model, I am trying to show the accumulation of bookings for a hotel over a month, for accommodation on the last day of the month. It’s a 31-day month, so there are 32 daily time steps to complete the run. During the month, overbooking is allowed, so the stock of...

Works perfectly. I knew it was going to be a 'slap forehead' moment. Thank you very much.

Pass variable value to a constant at given time
Hello, I have a model with an auxiliary variable, A, which calculates a value at each time step. When Time=1, I want to pass the value calculated by this auxiliary variable to another, constant, variable, B, which will hold that same value for all the remaining time steps. So, variable A might calcu...

Ventity DLL
We currently have Vensim models running very successfully on a Unix server with the web interface handled through Java and the Vensim DLL. Are there any plans to produce a similar DLL for Ventity, preferably x64?

You were right, thank you. I didn't realise I wasn't running the latest version, but downloading that and installing it cured my problem.

Bootstrap error
On trying to launch Ventity this morning I received the attached error. I can't get past that error message; it appears as soon as I click the Ventity icon, so I'm a bit stuck and I'd appreciate any help! I've come across the 'input string was not in a correct format' error before, but only in the c...

Re: Extracting strings from a model with the Vensim DLL
Thanks for replying, Tom, but I'm not sure I understand. I don't have any problem with the message strings in Vensim 6.4E DSS; it's using the Vensim DLL where we're having trouble extracting the string values. Do you mean that there is now a new version of the DLL that has a function to retrieve str...

Extracting strings from a model with the Vensim DLL
Hello, I'm running a Vensim model online using the Vensim DLL. The model runs in GAME mode. As users progress through the model, I want to present them with messages at various points, triggered by their actions. Is there a way that the DLL can extract string values from variables in the model (I'm ...

Re: Returning messages to users during a game
I'll retire from this thread, duly chastised. I don't know how I missed that, given that I searched the documentation and this board for 'message' first. I'll put it down to incompetence and offer you my thanks

Returning messages to users during a game
Does anyone have any examples, or a guide, to returning messages to users during a run in gaming mode? I understand I could do this by storing messages as strings in a CIN file, but I'm unsure how to set up the message selection. What I want to do is to provide feedback to users as they progress thr...

But when I select File>Publish, then click the 'Publish' button, I see the error, 'Vensim has stopped working' and the program closes. When I am trying to publish the model, the vmf file ...

Hello, I have a variable output in Venapp that is a decimal and that I want to display as a percentage. I am using, SHOWVAR,"Occupancy%",82,21,,,,,"", but the out put is still showing as a decimal (e.g. as '0.176', when I want '17.6%'). I thought I had followed the advice in the ...

Thanks again for your help; that wasn't obvious to me from the manual.

Do you mean the 'Open WIP graph on SIM' dialogue? I have tried that both selected and unselected and it doesn't change anything.

I changed the line to,
WIPTOOL,"Bookings Table",31,7,100,50,,,CUSTOM>Bookings,
but that didn't make any difference.
