Re: Venapp time display
It is correct, but only because I left the GAMECONTROL page, which the table is on, and then returned to it. Before I left the page the table showed only column 1 after each time step, like this, http://simulations.russellpartnership.tech/download/table2.PNG I can upload the files in a short while. ...

Re: Venapp time display
I'm nearly there! I have a table as an output in my Venapp control screen, shown below. The time now refreshes when the 'Forward' button is pressed, but the table doesn't. It only displays column 1 (the run is time 1 -31), unless I leave the screen and then return, at which point it has refreshed al...

Venapp time display
I am running my model behind a Venapp interface, with a timestep of one day. I have a button for the user to move the game forward day by day and the current day is displayed in a rectangle at the top of teh screen. The controls for the time display are TEXTONLY,"Time",18,6,0,0,R,,, SHOWVA...

Re: Gamed variable with subscript in Venapp
Thanks. Given that all I need to do is to present the users with a list of all 31 variable choices each timestep, your suggestion should work fine, thank you. As usual, I just wanted to check I wasn't missing an obvious trick!

Re: Gamed variable with subscript in Venapp
Perhaps a better question would be, 'how do I offer a subscripted gamed variable for user input in Venapp?', rather than citing a specific case!!

Gamed variable with subscript in Venapp
Hello, I have successfully run a Venapp interface on a model requiring users to input prices as time goes by. The variable 'Price' is set as a Gamed Auxiliary variable and I used these commands, TEXTONLY,"Prices",20,45,0,0,C MODVAR,"Price",15,50,10,0,L,[0|500] That worked properl...

I'm running version 6.3D. I looked on the download page, but there are only 32bit versions available.

Error with Vensim DSS 64 in 'Gaming' mode
Hello, I am trying to run the attached, very simple, model in Vensim DSS64, in gaming mode. When I click the 'Forward' button. to move to the next time period, I get a 'Vensim STOP' error panel, with the message 'Unable to open Current.vdf64 - nothing saved'. The model simulates successfully normall...

Re: Modelling a stock with a time constraint
Great advice, thanks Tom. I thought I would create the basic model in parallel in Vensim and Ventity (beta), to help me understand the fundamental differences.

Modelling a stock with a time constraint
Hello, I would very much appreciate some advice from more experienced Vensim modellers. I am building a model of a 'revenue management' system, where prices and inventory change over time. It is a model involving the sale of seats on an aircraft and we have one aircraft, with 100 seats, making one f...

Emails to ventity@ventanasystems.com are being returned as 'undeliverable'. Is that the wrong email address?

A very minor point, I know, but you say this is release 654, yet the 'About Ventity' info doesn't say that.

Data connections
Thank you for the new beta release extending access to January. The accompanying email mentioned time series data support and I would be very keen to see the ability to link Ventity (and Vensim, come to that) to an online database such as MySQL. Currently, we have to get a client's IT department inv...

Executable expiration date
When I launched Ventity 1.0 beta this morning I received a warning that 'This executable will expire on 31st October 2015' and a suggestion to contact ventity@ventanasystems.com for information on how to continue using the beta version. I send an email to that address, but it was returned with this ...

Re: Problem adding columns to builtin dataset editor
Thanks Tom. I had tried making a duplicate of the dataset, but that didn't make any difference. Adding a new one, though, did include the pastures attribute, which I had added after creating the original dataset, as you say.

Re: Problem adding columns to builtin dataset editor
Here's the model I am referring to. I would be very interested to know if anyone else can see the Pastures column on the Cows tab in the 'BuiltIn: many pastures' input data table (or point out where I've gone wrong). In the model as I am viewing it, there doesn't seem to be a way to link the cows to...

Problem adding columns to builtin dataset editor
I followed the exercises in the Ventity manual and got as far as exercise 3 without any problems. I tried to move straight from exercise 2 to exercise 3 so, having finished exercise 2 and leaving the program open, I added the 'Cows' entity, then the associated auxiliary variable and attribute. Follo...

Thanks very much and I'm sorry for wasting your time. That's what I thought I had done, but I kept getting the error "incorrect number of subscripts for -Visitors-". I closed Vensim down after I posted my question and now when I try again it works. I must have being doing something else wr...

Re: Working with subscript elements
I'm afraid this is another example of something that should be easy, but I'm just not seeing it. In the attached model I have a variable 'Visitors', containing subscripted data for 13 product sectors and three geographical regions. Sales in the sector 'Leisure Day', for example, are 3,000 in Country...

Thank you both. I had thought of the PULSE variable, but wasn't sure, as it's use isn't very clear from the Vensim manual, but it worked very well. Excellent help, as usual.

Passing a cost at a discrete time to a variable
Hello, I have a model (extract sketch attached) that includes a sequence for building new hotel properties. Once a hotel is built, the level OpenHotel, subscripted for the new properties, changes from a zero to a one. At that time, I want to pass a construction cost to a new variable, so that when O...
