Enzyme kinetics model

Post by chenf »

I have seen this Vensim model from the website: http://mvhs.shodor.org/mvhsproj/enzyme/ ... etics.html. The attached file shows that enzyme and substrate combined to form ES Complex with the reaction'forward rate'. Enzyme is in a box and substrate is in another box. The reaction 'forward rate' combine both 'Enzyme' and 'Substrate' to form 'ES Complex'. It looks trivial; yet I do not know how do I combine two boxes [ 'Enzyme' box and 'Substrate' box to for 'ES Complex' box. Can someone help me this 'trivial' question? Thank you.

Have you used Vensim before? If not, it might be a good idea to go through a tutorial such as http://www.public.asu.edu/~kirkwood/sysdyn/SDRes.htm.

If you are asking a more technical question on how the enzyme and substrate are combined, you will need to contact the author of the model. There might be others who read the forum who know about this kind of thing, I've got no idea what the model is trying to show (and the lack of documentation/dimensions in the model make it tricky).

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
