Hi,
I have a Vensim PLE Plus file that does not open when it is located in the folder C:Model but does open when I put it into another folder.
The error message is that venplep perfomed an illegal operation.
What's wrong?
Thanks

I use PLE Plus 5.4b
The exact directory of the file is:
C:\My Documents\Work\PHD\Thesis\model\Financial Fragility developed.mdl
And there is also:
C:\My Documents\Work\PHD\Thesis\model\Financial Fragility developed with MP.mdl
I just need to put the files on the desktop and I can open them. If I then save them back to the previous directory the same thing occurs if I try to open them again.

I don't have any problem but it sounds like it might be something related to the file open commands used by the shell. You might try uninstalling Vensim and then reinstalling it to see if that fixes the problem. If not you can work around it by opening Vensim and then using the File menu to open the models.
What operating system are you using?

Everything is back to normal now (the problem occured only once with winXP (at least for the moment): the first time I opened the file. I do not have any external data.
Maybe a problem with win98 (Vensim has not generated the problem anymore with winME since I use the files saved while working with winXP).
