Recover MDL file

Post by bb2015 »

Hello

I am in the process of recovering my mdl file but when I open up the file in Vensim it comes up with the following error message:

"this model appears to be from an earlier (non-unicode) version of Vensim. To display correctly you will need to convert to the character set. Do you want to do this now?"
65697Mod2.2.mdl
This file comes up with the error message
(15.04 KiB) Downloaded 234 times
65697Mod1-modified test3 2.mdl
This also comes up with the error message
(14.42 KiB) Downloaded 238 times
Please could you look at the attached and advise me which option I should choose to rectify this.

Kindest thanks

The file "65697Mod2.2.mdl" does seem to contain some sketch information, but the model equations are missing.

The other file is unreadable.

Vensim MDL files can be edited using a text editor, so you should be able to see quickly what is a valid model.

So neither of those contain anything useful. What other files do you have as one of them may contain the model (look for anything with a file extension .2mdl or similar).

I have the same problem, I am not able to open a file that I have been working on, would anyone be so kind to to let me know whether there is a way to open files when this issue comes up?

What do you see in a text editor? Do you have the .2mdl backup file?
