difficulty to download models from the models library

Post by LAUJJL »

Hi

I cannot download models from Tom's models Library. They all appear as .htm documents that I cannot open with Vensim DSS.

Any hint is welcome.

Regards.

Can you give an example? I've just tried UFOs.vpm from http://metasd.com/2014/06/the-dynamics- ... sightings/, no problem at all downloading.

Works fine for me too. I think the MIME type for mdl files is set incorrectly, but if you right-click-download them, they work fine (otherwise they open as text in the browser).

The private message system on the SD society forum doesn't seem to be working.

Hi

I have tried everything. But it does not work. It download the mfile as firefow html and i cannot get read of this extension. I hab download the world3 model as zipped file and it did work!

Is it possible to post the model about stochastic car rental model directly in this forum so that I can download it.

I think too that messages via the SD forum do not work.

Thank you in advance.

Have you tried a different browser?

And as Tom suggests, right click the link and select "Save Target As..." or "Save link as...." and it should be fine.

It could also be anti-virus interfering as well.

And if you point me to the correct model page on Tom's site, I'll happily email it to you.

Hi

I have changed the browser to Firefox, and miracle it works!

Thank you all for your help.

How can I join Tom if I have questions about the model, because I already posted comments in Tom's web site and had no answers?

Best regards.

You can post questions here, I'll do my best to answer. Tom is busy like most of us (and he was on holiday last week so that could explain the lack of a reply).

There are no comments in my queue on metasd.com. Possibly another browser problem?

I've realized that I overused the Poisson distribution in the car model, so a new version will be arriving soon.

Hi Tom

I posted too a comment some weeks ago, but I do not really remember about what, but I noticed that you record the posts sent and I did not see mine. I thought that you considered it as not Worth being published.

I will post a test comment to see if you get it.

I have just posted it on your meta etc.. web site.

Best regards.

It worked, but it was in my spam queue. Not sure why.
