Subscript Elements Whose values are Endogenous Variables

Post by wissam1 »

Hello,

I have a question concerning the subscript formulation in general. Let's say we have 3 Locations, each location has a certain demand that is determined endogenously in the model. So, if I define:

Location: X1, X2, X3

Demand [Location] = D1,D2,D3 (Where D1 is the endogenously determined demand for location X1)

I get an error when defining the demand [Location] that says "expecting an operator". It works if i define it as follows:

1- Demand [Location] = D1 , However this returns the same demand (in this case that of location X1) for all three locations

2- Demand [Location] = 1,2,3 (basically give any three constant numbers, which returns constant demand for each location across the simulation period)

Is there a way for the elements of a subscript to take on values of endogenous variables in the model?

Thank you
Wissam

Can you enter a valid Vensim serial number for your profile (or email it to vensim@vensim.com). You've said you are using PLE, but are asking about subscripting (not available in PLE).

Many thanks.
