SENS2TAB supports appending? +
SENS2TAB supports appending? +
Hello,
Unfortunately my release, 6.3D x32, doesn't seem to support SENS2FILE. Does SENS2TAB support appending to an output .tab file?
Thanks,
Kris Wile

I think so, with the same + keyword.

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
Easiest thing to do is try it. If the code to append was written prior to 6.3D, then it probably does.

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
Yes. I've been trying it with no luck. This is the test .cmd file I have been working with.
SPECIAL>NOINTERACTION
SPECIAL>LOADMODEL|PRISM_v3q1a_Max_All.vmf
SPECIAL>CLEARRUNS
SIMULATE>RUNNAME|C3.vdf
SIMULATE>SETVAL|Ulower C3=0
SIMULATE>SETVAL|Uhigher C3=1
SIMULATE>SENSITIVITY|PRISM ind sensit_C3
MENU>RUN_SENSITIVITY|o
MENU>SENS2TAB|C3.vdf|SensRes.tab|*!
SIMULATE>RUNNAME|C4.vdf
SIMULATE>SETVAL|Ulower C4=0
SIMULATE>SETVAL|Uhigher C4=1
SIMULATE>SENSITIVITY|PRISM ind sensit_C4
MENU>RUN_SENSITIVITY|o
MENU>SENS2TAB|C4.vdf|SensRes.tab|*!+
MENU>EXIT
Do you see anything glaring about my usage?
My SensRes.tab only saves one of the results sets, either c3 or c4 depending on whether I overwrite C3.vdf.

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
What does your help file say for SENS2TAB? It's likely that the feature was added when we added SENS2FILE, in 6.4.

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
OK
I upgraded, and now my old virtual PC operating system says the Vensim.exe is not a valid Win32 app.
<sigh>
How is the Mac version of Vensim DSS these days? Has it been rung out enough to be considered fully functional?

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
Downloaded the Mac version as a work around.
Vensim DSS opened and looked normal, so I call my command file from the Terminal.
I see the SD model flash open, status being displayed, then it closes without performing any of the tasks. Then the updated Mac version of Vensim won't open and is hung. The app no longer functions and must be uninstalled and reinstalled.
This sequence of events is repeatable.
To be clear, I have NO working versions of Vensim available to do my work.
Help.

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
Can you email us with a list of the steps you are taking? And if you can include the model and command script, that will help.

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
OK
Got the Mac version working, by eliminating the Exit and the NoInteraction commands.
It exhibits exactly the same problem I flagged at the top of this thread.
It doesn't append.
I don't suppose I can get my $500 back ...

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
I figured this out myself.
Replaced SENS2TAB with SENS2FILE in the updated Vensim DSS and finally got the append to work.
You can keep the $500.
I guess.
Regards,
Kris

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
I believe it's XP (and I've just tried installing on XP, it fails during the installation as there is an operating system function missing).

Re: SENS2TAB supports appending? +
Right. I've tried the same experiment - XP is missing some needed resources (and Microsoft support for it ended 4 years ago).
