warning of "ACTIVE INITIAL difference found"

Post by yut »

Hi all,

I'm running sensitivity run on version 7.2.
After do it, the software displays a warning, saying "ACTIVE INITIAL difference found."
It indicate an auxiliary variable, but its definition is simply RANDOM NORMAL.
And, I ddon't use ACTIVE INITIAL function in my model.
Can I have the meaning of this message and how to resolve it?
(Or, Should I ignore this?)

Thanks.

Can you upload the model? The warning might be pointing to the wrong variable.

This is explained in the help system here: https://www.vensim.com/documentation/ref_sim_errors.htm

This is probably just a usage of a RANDOM function that influences the initialization of a stock, perhaps in a macro like SMOOTH.

Probably nothing to worry about.

Hi Tom and admin,
Thanks for pointing the reference manual page, Tom.
I, of course, read it, and believe you are right.
The model include Delay functions so that it would affect it.
Anyway, I feel easy to receive your comment.
Unfortunately, the model is not mine so that I cannot upload it.
Best,
Yutaka.
