a Question about units

Hi
First I want to if there is any paper or stuff like that which is about dimension in SD. Second I saw a simple example but I did not understand the why the unit of the fraction is that, and when I use it in Vensim as it is obvious I face unit error.
I would be thankful if you help me.

People and Person are really the same unit, so they cancel out. Use Model>Settings>Units Equiv to define people,person as synonyms if you're getting an error.

Can someone tell me how I can access the current units defined in Vensim PLE and choose from them? and how I can edit the units list just for one model?
