model protection

Post by bahri »

Dear All,

Imagine you are working on a project where
you don't know most employees or you are confused with
their credibility.

and you are asked to share your SD models to others.
What do you do so your models cannot be plagiarized?

What are your tricks so someone cannot easily
copy paste your models?

What do you do so someone else cannot claim'
your SD models as his/her original work?

My models are in Vensim and it is a big model (500-600 variables).

Thank you so much for your attention.

You can distributed models in published form (vpm) with password protection to prevent re-saving. It's not uncrackable, but certainly makes copying inconvenient.

You should mark the top view of your model with a conspicuous notice of copyright and license, and use the Model>Settings>Info field to present the same information when the model is opened.

If it's credit you're concerned about, publishing first in a reliable venue is the best way to put a stake in the ground.
