Moving from PC to MAC platform

I'm thinking to change my current machine, Sony Vaio pIII800,
to a PowerBook G4 from Mac. Before that, I'm confirming all
current software I use to use, run properly in this platform.
Does my current licence/version (5.2a) allow us to download the MAC version?
Any hints or comments about the performance and stability in
both platforms?

The licese does allow people to use the Mac version. There are,
unfortunately, some stability problems with Classic mode in OSX.
