I am reading "Toward a unified ecology" by T.F.H. Allen and T.W. Hoekstra.
They clearly state a point: that predictability in systems depends both on scale of rapresentation of the system and on proximity of the system status to its constraints.
This would mean that if I represent a system dynamic model on the wrong scale the predictions based on the model would be at least not reliable. (I am not talking of time prediction but of system outcomes).
Is there some literature about the above themes? What do you think about it?
Thank You,
