REEPLY looking for crime / police applications

Post by Andy Ford »

This is Andy Ford responding to Ivo Sarges inquiry about SD applications to crime and police. There are two students reports which deal with this topic:

1. March 1995 student report on the "Multnomah County Sheriffs Office" by students in Bob Johannsens class at Portland State University. (Bob is in the School of Business Administration.)

2. Paul McColds 1993 report on "The Role of Fiscal Policy in Producing Prison Population Dynamics." Pauls modeling was conducted at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the State University of New York at Albany.

A third item is more readily available, and it makes use of Game Theory. Its the article by Dong-Hwan Kim and Doa Hoon Kim in the Spring 1997 issue of the System Dynamics Review: "Systm Dyanmics Model for a Mixed Strategy Game Between Police and Driver."
