BRB announce the official launch of SableNet, the Internet enabled interface
engine for Vensim modellers. Sable can be used to create an interface
between a user and a Vensim model. Such an interface can include
slider-bars, buttons, animation, text messages and video together with
Vensim views and full access to Vensim Venapp commands in an easy to use,
intuitive interface.
SableNet extends the advanced capabilities of Sable to the Internet through
the use of IE5 and Netscape plugins. This allows a Vensim solution to be
located on a server for access by one or more simultaneous users.
Multi-player interactive simulations can be instigated and involve users
from around the world.
Development of an Internet solution requires no Java or HTML expertise,
simply the ability to design a usable interface for you Vensim model.
On the 13th November 2000, BRB launch their new website to include a section
devoted to demonstrating SableNet. Here, 14 Vensim/Sable solutions have
been made freely available to web visitors so you can see for yourself the
powerful interface technology called Sable. In addition, a model reader
application has been made available for free download. This application
allows users to investigate the behavior within each model by giving access
to Vensim Causal Tracing TM, model influence diagrams, equations and tabular
output.
