I can supply you with data on quarterly diagnosed new AIDS cases
in 4 W. European countries, 1982 - 1998.

However, the data is in ASCII form and you should be aware that
this is not a natural epidemic because new triple therapy
introduced in 1996 in western nations has caused a plummeting of
new AIDS cases.

You could also check in your own country to see if eg there are
published data on e.g. new sales of black & white TV sets.

Cheers

seeking diffusion data

Dear System Dynamicists:

Has anyone gathered time-series data (ideally in spreadsheet form) that
illustrates the behavior over time associated with the "Bass" diffusion
model and/or epidemic models? This would likely be a bell-shaped curve of
product sales rate or disease infection rate, over time. There are
excellent printed graphs in Chapter 9 of Stermans "Business Dynamics," but
I am seeking actual numerical data.

Thanks,

Drew Jones

There are time-series data about the growth of the Internet and the World
Wide Web that you can access at
<http://www.isoc.org/guest/zakon/Interne ... y/HIT.html>. In addition to
the data on the site, there is a list of sources for the data including the
volume of emails, Usenet groups and posts, and domains. The raw data is
available by ftp.
