Dear SDs,
this is the first time for me consulting the SD network.
Working on my PhD i am currently trying to model different pricing
strategies for a consumer good.
In this process I am facing the following issue on buying behaviors:
- social pressure on the individual buyer
- lock in effect of the individual
- perceived benefit of a consumer good for the buyer (vs the costs)
- quality of the good
-perceived buying risks (risk taker, risk avoider, first time
epitition
purchase...
Obviously these are all soft and relative factors but I assume they have
allready been considered in various models as they are too essential.
If anyone has an idea where to find an answer, knows a generic model or
could advise me on how to handle them please let me know....
anything could help!!!!
Thanks in advance...

Buying Behavior and Pricing Strategies
Dear SDs,
This is the first time for me participating on the SD network.
A place to start could be the commodity pricing strategy example shown in
Chapter 20 of J. Stermans "Systems Thinking and Modeling for a Complex
World."
Although this is not exactly what you want, the example is a good guide to
follow.

Daniel:
My website at http://www.optimlator.com has a keyword-searchable engine for the
SD mailing list that allows you to search anything and outputs the
relevant email postings from the last 6 years or so of system dynamics
postings. Have a look and see if you find something useful there. Also,
there are other links you may find useful - SD or otherwise. There is an
SD survey and also Guest book/bulletin board if you care to take part.
Best regards
