I am interested in reviewing any models that refer to the regulation of
blood-sugar in normal and diabetic conditions.
More generally I am interested in models that address the normal absorption
and metabolism of food.
Any references or more specific information would be appreciated.

Erik Mosekilde and Jeppe Sturis of the Technical University of Denmark,
along with colleagues from the Univ. of Chicago medical school, developed a
series of models and supporting clinical and experimental data on the human
insulin/glucose regulatory system. A key reference, including the model
equations, is

Sturis, J., K. S. Polonsky, E. Mosekilde and E. Van Cauter. 1991. Computer
Model for Mechanisms Underlying Ultradian Oscillations of Insulin and
Glucose. American Journal of Physiology 260 (Endocrinol. Metab. 23):
E801-E809.

A search of medline will reveal their later articles on this topic.

The model is in the model library on my web site (
