ANNOUNCE PhD Fellowships at Adger University College

Post by Jose J. Gonzalez »

At Agder University College in Norway, Faculty of Engineering and
Science, Research cell ""Security and Quality and Organizations"", there
are two vacancies for PhD fellowships. Working language is English. No
knowledge of Norwegian is required, neither for professional nor
personal activities (""everybody"" speaks English in Norway).

The PhD project topics relate to SD modeling of cyber-threat. Project
topics will be embedded in an international collaboration involving
University at Albany, CERT Coordination Center at CMU (
www.cert.org
<http://www.cert.org/> ) and several other reputed American and European
institutions and companies. Topics will be: 1) SD modeling of Computer
Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs), including some development of
Interactive Learning Environments and audit systems; 2) Development of
SD-based microworlds and Interactive Learning Environments of
cyber-threat based on ongoing modeling work.

Given excellent performance, candidates will get near certain
opportunities for post doc work if - as the increasing American and
European awareness seems to indicate - research on cyber-threat is
prioritized.

Agder University College (http://www.hia.no/english/) is located in
Grimstad at the coast south of Oslo (an area having the best climate in
Norway). Winters are mild (January average temperature -1 Celsius/30
Fahrenheit) and summers are sunny (July/August average daylight
temperature around 19-21 Celsius/65-70 Fahrenheit). There are
international airports nearby with connections to Copenhagen, Amsterdam,
Billund, London and Frankfurt (as well as ferry connection to Denmark,
Sweden and England).

Prospective candidates should have a strong background in SD (while
experience with cyber threat research is not required). For inquiries,
contact Professor Jose J Gonzalez at Faculty of engineering and science,
Agder University College, NO-4876 Grimstad, Norway
(Jose.J.Gonzalez@hia.no), phone +47-37253240.
