ANNOUNCE ""System dynamics inside"" - a White Paper

Post by Richard Stevenson <rstevenson »

A few weeks ago I circulated some draft ideas of how SD might be integrated
into a more generalised proposition that would be of widespread value to the
business community. I received a number of constructive responses from
members of the listserve.

Subsequently I have somehow found the energy to condense the thinking into a
'White Paper' that summarises a new approach to planning that includes SD as
the ""engine"" of a toolset that also includes integrated financial accounts,
sophisticated valuation tools and new approaches to the accounting and
valuation of intangible assets.

Entitled ""The value cycle; a new 21st century planning architecture"", the
paper explores relationships between strategy, finance and performance
management, under the umbrella of business valuation.

The White Paper is available as a free download from our website at

http://www.valculus.com

Further feedback and constructive comments would be welcome.

A couple of people have objected to the word ""new"" in the title
of the white paper.

I am quite happy to retract it. New downloaders will find that the
title is simply "" a 21st century planning architecture"".

I accept that the ""new"" connotation could appear to overlook the vast
contributions of the past 50 years, from Forrester onwards.

However, I still suggest that the value cycle approach itself is a
""new"" practical approach to make SD more meaningful and relevant to
business.
