ANNOUNCE Deadlines for UK Chapter Prizes

This is a reminder of the approaching deadline for submitting entries
for two prizes awarded by the UK Chapter.

The Steer Davies Gleave System Dynamics Prize (£500) is for the best
piece of work that applies System Dynamics to a problem of wide public
interest in the UK. The work should demonstrably improve understanding
of the problem by, for example, clarifying the definition of what is at
issue and allowing candidate solutions to be formulated and tested.

More information about the prize can be found here:

http://www.systemdynamics.org.uk/index.php?id=17, or on the Steer Davies
leave web page here:
http://www.steerdaviesgleave.com/pages/ ... PageID=339

The deadline for submissions is January 8th 2008.

The other prize is the UK Chapter Student's prize, for the best piece of
student work in system dynamics during a given year. This includes
dissertations for an undergraduate or postgraduate (Master's) degree
or a published paper from a PhD (but not a full PhD thesis).
Information about this prize can also be found at

http://www.systemdynamics.org.uk/index.php?id=17.

The deadline for the Student Prize was 14th December, but this has been
extended to January 8th, to be consistent with the Steer Davies Gleave
prize. Please note also that due to earlier technical problems with the
submission address (SDcomp@sdgworld.net) I would ask that anyone who has
already sent an entry should re-submit, or contact me directly at
john.swanson@sdgworld.net. I offer my apologies for any inconvenience.
