ATHENS CONFERENCE INFORMATION: The different sections below cover:

PROGRAM ITEMS:

*FEATURED PLENARY SPEAKERS include Professors Peri Loucopoulos and Kostas
Zografos who will describe the modeling work which was carried out to
facilitate the logistics of staging the Athens Olympics in 2004. Senior
members of the Athens 2004 Olympics Organizing Committee will also present.

*PRELIMINARY SESSIONS AND WORKSHOPS BY THREAD: Please click the conference
webpage link to see the preliminary titles of parallel, poster and workshop
sessions, organized by thread. This table shows the program breadth of the
conference. WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS are also available. The Tentative Schedule
will be posted on June 9.

*MODELING ASSISTANCE WORKSHOP: To sign up for a modeling assistance
opportunity or to coach, and for more information, visit the link ""8th
Annual Modeling Assistance Workshop.""

* NEWCOMER ORIENTATION SESSION: Information will be provided to help
newcomers maneuver resourcefully through the conference and get the most out
of the experience. If interested, please contact James Melhuish at
jamesmelhuis@gmail.com.

LOGISTICS:

*GROUP DISCOUNTS: Groups of four or more from the same organization qualify
for a 10% discount on appropriate registration fees when registration forms
and payments are submitted together.

*SPECIAL ROOM RATES: We encourage you to stay at the Athenaeum
InterContinental Hotel Athens. A special room rate has been negotiated.
Please see the room reservation request form for information on room sharing
(up to 3 people in a room) and reduced rates for student rooms. Hotel
reservation deadline is June 20; sooner is better.

*CONFERENCE ROOMMATES: If you are looking for a roommate, please contact the
Society office for coordination suggestions.

*COMPLIMENTARY ROOM UPGRADE PRIZE: The winner will be randomly selected from
registrants whose registration form and payment are received by the Society
office and who have made room reservations on or before May 30th.

*TRAVEL AND SIGHTSEEING: The conference is registered with a local travel

SOCIAL PROGRAM:

*INFORMAL GATHERING: Sunday during and after registration from 1 PM until 8
PM.

*MONDAY LUNCH AND TUESDAY DINNER: Included for registrants is a buffet lunch
on Monday along with the Poster Symposium, and the Conference Banquet dinner
on Tuesday evening. For anyone not registered for the conference (spouses,
guests) to attend, please purchase the Social Program Ticket on the
conference registration form.

*KARYDOPITA: Sign up to learn how to prepare a traditional walnut cake
dessert-attend a lesson by the hotel pastry chef. Time and date to be
determined. If you or your guest would like to participate, please send an
email message to the Society office with the names.

*NANA MOUSKOURI FAREWELL CONCERT: We are looking into the possibility of
making a group reservation for this event on July 23 at the ancient theatre,
Odeon of Herodes Atticus. This theatre is situated on the southern slopes of
the Acropolis. Ticket prices range from 30 Euro to 100 Euros with a discount
for students with proper ID and would be non-refundable. To get a tentative
headcount, please sending an email message to the office if you are
