ANNOUNCE MapSim Modeling Tool

Post by ""David Sorokin"" <david.soro »

I'm pleased to announce a free and open source modeling tool MapSim, which is
accessible by the following address:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/mapsim/

This is a general purpose dynamic systems simulator. MapSim uses the own
modeling
language that supports many standard mathematical functions and operates on such
high-level entities as integrals, conveyors and flows. The latter is especially
remarkable.

MapSim offers two different approaches for defining stocks and flows. The first
approach is standard. It allows the modeler to define these elements with help
of
built-in functions. The second approach uses so called a declarative style, which
is very well suited for the diagram representation of the stocks and flows. There
is a direct correspondence between that how these elements can look graphically
on the diagram and that how they are defined in the MapSim modeling language.

MapSim uses .NET and provides a very simple simulation tool that allows
simulating the models and saving the results as CSV file. There is also a
reference manual in PDF format describing the MapSim modeling language.

Best regards,
