The symposium goals are to begin work to:

1. Encourage development of guidelines and standards for modeling and
simulation in the Healthcare Emergency Management and Systems environment

2. Identify minimum data requirements for modeling efforts

3. Define needed interface requirements for the Emergency Management
(Community) and Emergency Health care delivery systems (Emergency Department
and Critical Care)

4. Establish Core Protocols for live and computer-based simulation exercises
and outcome measures for community and facility scenarios

5. Define requirements toward accreditation/certification for Healthcare
modeling/simulation professionals

NIST will publish the proceedings of the symposium.

To defray the costs of the symposium, registration will be $500. The meeting
site is Boston's Metro Meeting Center, 101 Federal Street, Boston, MA 02110.
