The Engineering Systems Division at MIT is searching for new faculty.

ESD Faculty Position

The MIT Engineering Systems Division invites applications for a tenure tr=
ack
faculty position starting in October 2008. The appointment would be at t=
he
Assistant or untenured Associate Professor level, or in special cases at =
the
senior faculty level, in the broad area of principles, properties and des=
ign of
complex large scale engineering systems. Relevant domain areas include b=
ut are
not limited to energy and sustainability; health care delivery; extended
enterprises; and critical infrastructures. See http://esd.mit.edu/ for a=

versed
in an array of methodologies =96 many of the projects in the Engineering =
Systems
Division are characterized by a problem orientation and research methods =
based
on
engineering, management and the social sciences.

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Engineering Systems or a related f=
ield of
engineering, management, or social science; strong teaching skills; and
demonstrated excellence in research. The successful candidate will be exp=
ected
to
develop a significant research program and teach subjects in related area=
s.

The search committee will begin reviewing applications this fall, with a =
view to
inviting visits early in 2009. Applicants should send a current curricul=
