ANNOUNCE Friday Proposals for Albuquerque 2009

Post by System Dynamics Society <sds@ »

Posted by System Dynamics Society <sds@csc.albany.edu>

Approaching deadline (November 15, 2008) to submit PROPOSALS FOR ""BONUS
DAY""

2009 International Conference of the System Dynamics Society
Albuquerque, New Mexico Bonus Day: July 31, 2009

The Organizing Committee of the Albuquerque Conference (ICSDS/09) is
inviting established Special Interest Groups and Chapters of the System
Dynamics Society, as well as informal groups, to take advantage of the
Bonus Day. This is an opportunity for groups to share information in much
greater depth than before, and to do hands-on work, using the conference
time and venue as a natural gathering moment and place. While these
working meetings tend to happen during the course of the conference, they
are normally rushed and participants' attention is often divided among
many competing interests. Instead, we invite you to stay a day longer and
conduct your business or collaboration meeting on Friday, July 31st.

Due to cost and space limitation, this opportunity will be provided to
only a limited number of groups in this first trial, in Albuquerque.
Therefore, we encourage you to take advantage of it and make it a fruitful
event for your interest group!

Proposals shall be addressed to the Conference Manager (at
conference@systemdynamics.org) and include the following information:

1. Nature of the meeting
2. Number of expected attendees (if possible include list of potential
participants)
3. Name of interest group (formal or informal)
4. Duration and tentative agenda
5. Meeting space and layout requirements (size of room & format of seating
arrangement)
6. Name(s) of meeting organizer(s)/champion(s)

Proposals will be reviewed and approved based upon their merit, with
special attention to the first two requirements, conditioned upon cost and
space availability. While the space will be provided free of charge,
participants may be required to pay a food and beverage fee. Meeting
organizers will be responsible for providing audio/visual or other
equipment, if they so desire.
