Dear Collegues,

I'm glad to inform you that, on October 30th 2007, a workshop on: ""Designing
a Learning-Oriented Program for Growing Small Medium Enterprises: a System
Dynamics approach"" will be held in Palermo.

The workshop is oriented to reach the following goals:
1. to diffuse the outcomes of the project titled ‘Designing a
Learning-Oriented Program for Growing Small Medium Enterprises: a System
Dynamics approach’, funded by the European Commission, coordinated by the
University of Palermo with the support of the Plymouth University Business
School (UK); Dalarna University (Sweden); Universidad Nacional de Colombia;
Universidad Catolica Andrés Bello (Venezuela); Universidad Nacional de La
Plata (Argentina);
2. to stimulate a debate among researchers, entrepreneurs and
management consultants on the opportunities and pitfalls related to SMEs
growth strategies;
3. to encourage the use of the System Dynamics simulation models
developed by the research team to support SMEs business growth.

The workshop is designed for:
- entrepreneurs and main actors operating in SMEs;
- management consultants;
- experts in financial management;
- banks and financial institutions managers;
- managers and officials of Trusts promoting entrepreneurship;
- people who desire to start a new business venture.

Conference venue:
The workshop will be held at Association of the Entrepreneurs of the Palermo
Province, Via XX Settembre, 53 - Palermo (Italy).

Participants will receive a free copy of the management handbook titled
“Managing Business Growth”. The book includes an advanced curriculum to
manage SMEs growth strategies and a copy of simulators used in the workshop

This workshop is the result of a project included in Programme ALFA (América
Latina - Formación Académica) Programme of co-operation between the European
Union and Latin America, in the frame of higher education and training.
Participation will be free of charge.
