problem in formulating auxiliary equation

Post by swati »

Hi
I have just started learning Vensim.I have been referring to MIT OCW roapmaps. One recurring problem which I am facing is when i formulate equation for an auxiliary variable. For example, I have an auxiliary variable called death rate. The equation for death rate is defined as population * death fraction. Whenever i define equation for death rate in this manner, vensim automatically changes it to population * death fractiondeathfraction. it automatically adds death fraction again to the equation. Please help.

What version of Vensim are you using, and what operating system?

And are you clicking the variable name in the equation box? If yes, are you single or double clicking?

Strange. This works perfectly for me, even when I edit the death rate.
