When will the tool replacing Venapp available?
When will the tool replacing Venapp available?
Hi
My last post explained that I need to post my models on the internet available by anybody or eventually paying, or sending him a model readable by the Vensim reader but guided by a tool like Venapp. It is maybe preferable to wait until the tool that will replace Venapp becomes available. But will the tool have at least the same Venapp possibilities and when approximately will it be available (in 3 months or in 3 years)?
Regards.
JJ

Re: When will the tool replacing Venapp available?
You can already add controls to the sketch, hold SHIFT when pressing the drop down button next to the IO object tool.
If you want to run your models on the internet, the best option currently is still Forio.
If you want users to pay, then you will need the help of a professional web designer. Vensim can already create files that will run in a browser, but really you would take this and ask a web designer to make it more professional.

Hi
Thank you for your answer.
I will post without payment for the moment. i will see later on. I am studying Forio. I will try the new gui and use the additional input output objects.
I imagine that you cannot or do not want to give a date for the new Venapp. I understand.
Best regards.

Hi
If there is a tool to replace Venaoo in preparation, there must be already a beta or at least an alpha version. If you are interested by beta or alfa tester, I am interested.

As I've mentioned previously, hold SHIFT when using the IO object tool, the new tools will be available for you to use.

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
But these new IO object tools do not seem to do the same job that the Venapp can do?
Regards.

Re: When will the tool replacing Venapp available?
Are you looking for screen layout tools, or scripting/automating a set of actions to support interactive gaming or similar?

Re: When will the tool replacing Venapp available?
I am looking for what Venapp does: a guide that helps someone using the model.
I am looking for both. I want that the user has a convenient screen that helps to understand what the model says about the problem and helps him to navigate between the model's possibilities of usage.
And I want to communicate with the client by internet, answering questions for example, preferably hosting the model and the tool that manages it on a web site, or sending him the tool and the model (vensim reader) which may be more difficult, the prospect fearing to download a virus.

Re: When will the tool replacing Venapp available?
Are there some model examples using the new guide I/O objects?
Re: When will the tool replacing Venapp available?
When one looks in the help for input output objects, it does not mention the new objects included in the new gui.
