read.ini file error message

We get an error message about read.ini file.

After some testing It turns out that Vensim cannot handle a relative appdata location. Within our network, as part of profile synchronization at the Microsoft Group Policy (GPO) level, the Appdata is redirected to the location \omgeving.nl\appdata\C0001U00\user\Application Data\Vensim.

Research has shown that in this situation, the Vensim application generates the error (read.ini.file) message upon startup. This message can be dismissed, and the Vensim application then starts up. It remains unclear whether the Vensim application is then fully functional.

Is indeed Vensim then fully functional?
What can you advice to prevent/suppress this error message?

What version of Vensim are you using?

Are you using the new or old GUI?

It should still work correctly, but I have no way of testing this kind of usage.

I can try and test though, can you run the "set" command from a command prompt and let me know the value of APPDATA? You can email this to us if you wish (vensim@vensim.com).
