Trouble Opening .vdf File in v10.1.3

I am having difficulty using Vensim v10.1.3 to open a .vdf file. The error message indicates it cannot open the .vdfx version of the same file because it does not exist. Is there a way to convert a .vdf to a .vdfx file? I reviewed the earlier threads on this and it does not seem to provide sufficient guidance. It mentioned being backwards compatible.

Can you upload the file? How large is it?
