Hi,
I created a Vensim model in my laptop (my laptop is not a Mac) and
I created sliders for Synthesim.
But Synthesim only works after I choose "Old GUI".
It did not work using "new GUI".
And then I send my model to my friend whose a Mac.
He has a same problem as he could not the run using 'new GUI'
He also does not have an option to convert to "old GUI".
Any advice?

Re: Vensim for Mac
Can you upload the model or email it to us (vensim@vensim.com)?
The old GUI no longer works on the Mac which is why the option to switch back is gone.

Re: Vensim for Mac
Hi again,
I attach the model.
I can run Synthesim for the attached model using "old GUI".
If my friend whose a Mac could not run Synthesim in "new GUI",
what shall he do?
He also asked me like this "If I run SyntheSim it runs in 1 second. How do I slow it down?"
what shall my friend do ?

Re: Vensim for Mac
I'm assuming the graphs are not updating for you?
I can see the same behaviour in this model on a Apple silicon Mac, but it's running fine on an Intel one.
Do you know what version of MacOS your friend is using?

Re: Vensim for Mac
Actually that's not quite correct, the error occurs if I have more than one model open. I'm investigating.

Re: Vensim for Mac
If you tell them to make sure they only have one model open, it should be fine.
We'll fix this before the next release (which should be next week).

Hi again,
It seems that Intel and Max reproduce similar patterns using Synthesim.
Is it correct?
One more, Can you please answer my friend question:
"If I run SyntheSim it runs in 1 second. How do I slow it down?"

Re: Vensim for Mac
You can try using the SIMULATION PAUSE constant.

Re: Vensim for Mac
Hi,
thanks. it is said that "simulation pause" is ignored during Synthesim.
Anyway, what is the purpose of "Suppress Synthesim during slider moves"?

Re: Vensim for Mac
Another way to slow it down is to create some unused variables (such as a large array, all calculating a call to RANDOM 0 1).
Why do you want to slow the sim down? I can enable SIMULATION PAUSE during SyntheSim for the next release.
"Suppress Synthesim during slider moves" is used for large models, it waits until you have finished moving the slider before triggering a re-calculation.
