anyone using microworlds in undergraduate business

Steve Cavaleri is professor of management at Central Connecticut State
University. He uses a microworld I developed for his undergraduate courses
in management systems for a couple of years and may still be using it. The
microworld, called WellDone!, is written in commercial and student versions
and simulates staffing and training, knowledge management and program
management in a multi-project environment. A few years ago, Steve used a
microworld called Aaron that simulates product introduction and competitive
dynamics. He presented a paper on the effectiveness of microworlds in his
classes at the Society Conference a few years ago.

Kim,

There is quite extensive work going on in the whole K-12 arena. You
will find about 300 pieces of teacher-generated curricula available
on the Creative Learning Exchange website. (http://clexchange.org.)
The high school work has been centered mainly in the Portland, Oregon
area, although there has been quite a bit done in Tucson, AZ, as well
as in the Northeast. If you would like more specific questions
answered about the use of SD in K-12, I would suggest browsing
through the 9 years of newsletters on the CLE site. And, of course,
I would be happy to carry on either an e-mail conversation or a
"real" conversation with anyone who is interested.
