SD and Petri nets

Hi,

Im looking at ways of modelling biological systems, and Im currently
comparing S&D diagrams with (coloured and functional) Petri nets. I
wanted to ask: does anyone have any practical experience comparing these
two tools for a single modelling task? Do you have any tips about
aspects which are more or less convenient in one or the other formalism?
