Cycle Time

Can Vensim return elapsed time taken for items to travel through a defined route in a the structure? This is needed to capture the actual leadtime for customers to undergo transistion form one state (level) to another. Please advise?

You would need to keep track of how long items spent in certain stages. It could be as simple as summing the delays, but Vensim will not do it automatically.

Depneds on wether you are looking at discrete items flowing through or a contimuous stream. For the former you could use a couple of simple SAMPLE IF TRUE on the entry and exit rates to log the times in the stock. If the former, try setting the stock up as a FIFO Queue, there are then associated Vensim functions for deriving thinds such as Average time in Queue.

Indeed, with a number of sample if trues or what can be done is make a view thats keeps track op flows..Cfr. vessel tracking
