ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN SYSTEM DYNAMICS

A permanent position as Associate Professor in System Dynamics is open in the Department of Geography, the System Dynamics Group.

The successful applicant must have a doctorate in System Dynamics or corresponding qualifications by the closing date for applications. Candidates are preferred who have a strong background in one or preferably several of the following areas:

* experimental investigations of knowledge transfer using System Dynamics teaching methods;
* interdisciplinary, large scale modelling of complex dynamic systems;
* development planning using dynamic models;
* model - based policy analysis of environmental and natural resources management problems.

Ability to teach is also valued, particularly the ability to develop students' intuition of complex, dynamic systems.

The teaching language for this position is English. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to participate the Norwegian language training course at the University of Bergen.

Basic teaching training is a requirement. The successful candidate will be offered appropriate training if this requirement has not been met before the appointment.

The initial annual salary for this position is NOK 403,700 (level 56 on the state salary scale - code 1011). A higher salary may be negotiated for especially well-qualified applicants.
