Must be Canadian eh? You bet.

We are pleased to announce the formation of a System Dynamics Interest
Group in Canadas National Capital region of Ottawa. Our formative
group represents a broad range of interests from Government, the Military,
Education, Business and the Research community. With over 700 high-tech
businesses in the rapidly growing economy of "Silicon Valley North" we
expect to attract a diverse and enthusiastic membership interested in both
the development and application of SD principles across a broad range of
issues.

Meetings will be held on the first Monday of each month, initially from
4:00 to 6:00 PM, beginning June 1st, 1998.

The venue will be the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI),
located at 36 Steacie Drive, Kanata, Ontario. To learn more about
OCRI, including an on-line map of how to get there, you can visit their
website at http://www.ocri.ca

With the terrific support of the System Dynamics Group at MIT our first
meeting will include the exploration of one of their well-known Management
Flight Simulators in addition to formalizing our new group and conducting
a "visioning" exercise around our key goals and future program content.

We are especially interested in hearing from practitioners (both individuals
and firms) who might wish to participate in future programs as invited
guests. This would include, for example, Educators, Researchers,
Consultants and Software Developers who would be willing to share their
work with us.

If you live in our region or plan to be travelling to the Ottawa area
around our meeting dates you are most welcome to attend. To ensure
adequate space is available please let us know in advance. Until
roles are more firmly established I will be acting as group coordinator...
