New Home for the Distance Program in SD

I believe that Khalid Saeed will follow with a more official sounding
announcement -- but allow me to squeak in here with a news flash:
The distance program in system dynamics has a new home -- WPI. All the
profs and instructors in the distance program (currently seven courses
offered world wide) are looking forward to building on the prior
successes.
You can visit http://www.wpi.edu/Academics/Corporate/Programs/sd.html
for more details, but ...
For the first time, starting this June 27th (i.e. right now), we will
offer courses in the summer - making the program a year round effort.
The summertime courses are: Project Dynamics (Jim Lyneis),
Environmental Dynamics (Andy Ford), and Foundations of System Dynamics
(Jim Hines).
For the first time, we will offer a degree - WPIs brand new Masters in
Systems Modeling. You can still get a certificate, but you now can also
earn an inter-disciplinary masters offered jointly by the Department of
Mathematical Sciences and the Department of Social Science and Policy
Studies (Khalids department).
If youre looking for a more policy-oriented masters . well, stay tuned.
Our intention is for the program to continue to grow. If you have ideas
for what youd like to see in the future, please email me
(jhines@mit.edu). In fact, what the heck ... email our new partners,
too: Dean John Minasian (johnm@wpi.edu), and Prof. Khalid Saeed
(Saeed@wpi.edu), Chair of the Department of Social Science and Policy
Studies.
If you have questions not answered on the web
(http://www.wpi.edu/Academics/Corporate/Programs/sd.html) or if youd
just like to talk about the program, please write me or Elliot Field,
Program Manger (efield@wpi.edu).
