Open Source SD program?

Dear System Dynamics Community,
Is there any Open-Source System Dynamics application? Open-Source
applications tend to be developed in almost every area, and they are
often very successful. (Think of the Perl scripting language, the Linux
operating system, the web server Apache and the mail server Sendmail.)
An Open-Source application would also make SD more available for schools
and students where the budgets often are very small. Maybe we could get
an SD application preinstalled into every computer? Like a mail client
or a web-browser....
Programs like Stella are very good, but there ought to be an open-source
alternative.
