I am systems engineer at Columbus Stainless - only stainless steel producer
on the continent of Africa.
We have recently embarked on a huge expansion of our works - and have
been experiencing the pain of the changes in corporate culture as well as
corporate policies that went with the expansion.
This manifested itself mostly in the policies used to plan and schedule the
production -
as most people know, a steelplant
olling mill combination is a complex
system to manage.
We are also looking for a planning and shceduling computer system which must
support
the policies and methods that we use to run the company.
Has anyone out there been involved in a similar situation - or does anyone
have some
thoughts to share? We are in a dynamic situation, and any ideas of dealing
with the
setting up of company policy and embedding those policies in the management
systems
of the company will be welcome!
